I think a simple answer is that if you dont get enough sleep you look tired, drawn and it can affect your skin. Your body needs decent sleep to repair and regenerate so it stands to reason that if you are getting good sleep you are going to look better for it. A lot of things will aid your 'beauty sleep' dont eat too late, your body cant rest properly if it is digesting, dont have too many pillows, have a well ventalated room, if you are girl take off your make up off and use a good night cream :-)

yes..
beauty sleep doesnt mean that when you go to sleep you will suddenly wake to be beautiful..
it just means that if you were to get your recommended amount of sleep which is more than 8 hours then you will continue to look young and youthful.
if you get less than 8 hours then you will look tierd, puffy faced, develop crows feet and have black rings under your eyes.. which is not attractive. therefore you have not had any 'beauty sleep'.
but i am living proof. i am 23 and last year everyone put me in the 16 - 20 year old bracket.. but one year later and tons of lack of sleep (i cant sleep properly due to stress and sleep talking :( and a busy life) i now look between 24 - 27 years old...
god damn, just in 12 months!
so i need to work on getting more beauty sleep, for sure!

Yes, there is such thing as beauty sleep . It's just that I have not slept enough for it to work on me yet.

All sleep is beauty sleep, according to a news article I read that said women tended to look older and more haggard with the less sleep they got.

It's definitely possible to look much worse through lack of sleep, but I sleep quite a lot and no sign of improvement!

Yes! Take a half bath prior to sleep and don't forget a glass of hot milk.

every time i have a beauty sleep and look in the mirror when i wake up, i look like someone has dragged me backwards trough a hedge. Don't work for me that.
