Good idea in theory, in practise a load of crap!
Miss-used by people as excuses for bad behaviour, its still the good guys who suffer.

just a fancy way of imposing western morals on other nations without admitting to it. if we had to admit we were imposing western morals on others, then we would expose ourselves as "intolerant" of other cultures and beliefs. it's easier to invalidate cultures and beliefs and say that they don't count.
we should either buck up and admit that morality exists and is worth imposing on other people, or we should stop trying to get people to stop violating human rights.
