Not the next day. Feelings can change over time. But very rarely in one day.
If someone finds out a friend likes them, sometimes feelings get confused--it's more liking the idea that someone likes you than an instantaneous friend-to-romantic interest turnabout.

Yes, I was best friends with him from kindergarten until we were 20. Then I realized I loved him. He didn't feel the same way.
