Its the media.

If there had been 2 big name east coast teams the games would have started earlier.

Even here on the west coast, the games ran until late.

I think it is a shame that the kids are really the ones who missed out. It too bad that the ones who play little league get to miss out on the championship of MLB. All they get to see are the highlights... its not the same as watching the game in real time.

With so many other viewing options on tv, I doubt the World Series ratings will ever be that high. Since 1992 tv ratings haven't cracked 20.0 or had a share higher than 34. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the total viewers is off. I remember the days when most bars had 1 tv. Today many people go out to gatherings to watch big games. Seem like every bar has the big screens and multiple screens thoughout. So overall, I'm not really surprised at the low ratings.

I am still mad at the Red Sox for NOT beating the Yankees in that three (or 4) game series in August which would have helped the Tigers and I don't root for ANY team from Colorado so I didn't really give a rip. Apparently others felt the same. And yes, it was on too late and nearly November for cripes sakes! I was already into hockey and anticipating basketball and enjoying football.

I was a little surprised but I think there's a couple factors: (1) football is the most popular TV sport and (2) the World Series has more competition than ever with prime-time TV and satellite, cable, etc.

Baseball has never been more popular, they broke the attendance record again this season. The TV ratings have been going down in recent years.

No. How did the Indians Red Sox rating fair though? I bet they were better than the World Series.

No, its about what everyone expected especially after Boston blew the Rox out in the first game.. colorado just wasnt a big name to play the Bosox...though they certainly deserved the right to after their incredible run to get there.Lets face it, if it isnt the Yankeees, Mets, Cubs, Dodgers, Red Sox or Braves involved head to head, its probably not going to be a big Nielson winner

I agree with Rachel, games are on too late. Why can't they have day games during the weekends?

For one there was no competition and two it was on too late.
I'm glad maybe the ******* will be more considerate next year and put it on earlier.
