Not really sure what you mean by 'birth star'. But it sounds like a superstition, so you're in the wrong section. Try 'astrology' - it's under Entertainment. Because it's certainly not science.

Actually, "family and relationships" is more like it. I'm a science nerd, but I've had a total stud for a roommate before, and he's charmed hundreds of girls with this astrology talk. Many young ladies, namely those wobbling through nightclub dance floors, buzzed (if not piss drunk), and not students of the finer things in life, such as science or mathematics, go gah gah whenever he busts out with the star sign talk. It's magical, i tell you! Don't knock it! But on a more serious note, no, this is not part of the natural sciences, but you can probably find someone knowledgeable in this practice to answer your question under entertainment or something.

It depends what way you put it.
If you are born on 12th April, you are an Aries.
If you are born on 4th December, you are a Sagittarius.
To settle the argument made above, the question should have been put in Astrology.

Assuming you were born in this solar system and aren't an alien spy sent to find out how much we know, your "birth" star is the Sun (affectionately known as Old Sol).

referring to previous answers: Aries and Saggitarius are constellations, not stars.

I agree that "the sun" is the best answer to your question.
