The pentium II is determined by the motherboard. A label can say one thing but you can go to start>run>type... msinfo32>ok
that will bring up a list of everything that is and it will show you exactly what you have. Sometimes a software that you download will say something different than what you have because some configurations look like another. By looking at the configuration you will know exactly what you have.

Operating systems, on occasion, won't recognize a processor correctly. The most surefire way to determine what processor your computer is running is to either go into the system BIOS setup at startup (it displays what processor and the bus speeds are being used) or to Google your laptop's model info (not Dell D520, but the other model number on the box the laptop came with or on the bottom of the laptop).

BTW, Celerons are "neutered" versions of Pentium or Core/Core2 chips, with slower bus speeds and lower Cache RAM amounts. Sometimes, they're recognized as Celerons, but a number of products will recognize them as Pentium or Core processors.

The actual sticker label means bull, I wouldn't even consider it as any kind of authoritative answer, I could stick a Core label on my turn-of-M old tower but that means nothing.

Celeron is closer to ID the actual chip, neutered series is right. Only a month old? You've been had if it cost a lot, a moderately loaded Athelon laptop cost $500 and few hundred more for Core, dual-core types.

On the computer, it may say its one thing, but if the computer has had an upgrade, then it will be different to what is displayed on the computer.

Or, it could be a mistake :) though its not likly
