is there a store which says 'happiness for sale!'?
have you met a salesman selling 'happiness' door to door?
is there a tree which you can simply pick the unripe, ripe, and over-riped happiness? is there even such a tree of happiness? if you bought a 24k gold watch on a store for $1 did you actually buy happiness? no, you actually bought a 24k gold watch for 1$, and that made you happy.
You have a well fed family which loves you, they make you happy... happiness is not a mere commodity you can buy per piece or per pound in some decrepit , obscure nook. happiness cannot be quantified... the irony is there is enough happiness for everybody, more than they can handle but no amount of money can buy something as common as happiness...
hence it is true money cant buy happiness. however you can buy things which can make you happy...

Money doesn't buy happiness. It is the material thing we buy. Authentic happiness could be drawn when we know contentment in life. Happiness is helping others. It is seeking happiness from them. The happiness for me is ever fulfilled if you know how to treat others with respect as you treat your own. Happiness cannot be bought. It is a inside emotional feeling drawn from the heart.
Thnaks for asking. Have a great day!

It's true that money can't buy happiness directly but can play an important role in enabling humans to achieve happiness.Like when freed from poverty, illness ,deprivation and other obstructions created due to want of money, humans can focus and work to achieve happiness not only earlier but also in a greater measure,

Yes it is. Money can make your life easier without a doubt. But it CANNOT buy you happiness. I once knew a man who was a millionaire many times over and he committed suicide. Why? Because he wasn't happy. So if money can't buy you happiness, what can? Happiness comes from within.

I don't think money buys happiness but I would assume having more money would make things seem easier. If I had more money I wouldn't have to freak out when my cars starts making that noise and I wouldn't have to wonder if I can afford to hang out with friends and see a movie. I am sure more money doesn't mean less problems, but I think it's a little less hanging over your shoulder.

hi, money can definitely buy happiness, but happiness that is very very short lived, but money is just a human invention. and doesn't even compare to the tonnes of happiness you receive from the simplest acts, like watching the sunrise, or a smile on someones face, i beleive i am happier that the the richest guy in this world, coz i can do these simple things in my life.

No. It is not true to say that we can achieve the happiness with money. The one who has a lot to lose. But the one who has not gained has nothing to lose. The eternal happiness cannot be realised with money.

Money supplies a foundation for happiness, for most people.
According to Abraham Maslow's famous "hierarchy of needs," people must have several levels of needs met before they can engage in happiness-producing activities, which, in my opinion at least, are found in the top level of his needs hierarchy, the level of self-actualization. This is the place where we are able to attend to facts, to rid ourselves of prejudice, and to engage in creative thinking.
At the bottom of his pyramid are "physiological" needs--for food, warmth, shelter, etc. Without that most people can't hope to climb to the higher level.
However, having done some work with homeless people, I found a few who seemed fairly happy to be where they were. They engaged in creative and spiritual activities, and enjoyed at least some of their free time.
But they were getting some of their needs met at church meal centers, etc. And the ones who were faring well were generally young, strong, and healthy.
No. Money doesn't buy happiness, but without a secure footing, which, in our society, is supplied by money, it's hard to be happy. So money is a precondition for happiness.

As far as I saw it, and for five years I lived in a place whose locals were all wealthy... no, money cannot buy happiness. So what you asked in your question is true... it can't!
