DL Miller, where did you get that he was homosexual?
All I saw was that he left behind a wife and two children.
Nonetheless, I'm guessing you feel it's okay to picket a FUNERAL if the deceased was gay.
SICKO!

Absolutely not. Look, I didn't have to jump on the "Iraq is a bad idea" bandwagon....that was my opinion when Dubya decided that we "had" to go there.

That being said, just because I didn't agree with us going over there in the first place, or the planning, or the execution of the war once we got in, I would never stoop so low as to express those sentiments at a soldier's funeral.

Those people in the service are absolute heroes. Every single day, they put their lives on the line to keep us safe. They saw a duty they felt they needed to do. They felt the need to serve this country, and the people who live in it. Most do that duty and then come back to civilian life....many don't. And for those who don't the very least, the absolute very least we owe them is to let them be memorialized, mourned over, and put to rest in peace. They made the ultimate sacrifice for us....if anybody leaving this world deserves to be attended to by 72 virgins, it is these people.

Anybody who would picket one of their funeals is the lowest, vilest, sub-human parasite to come down the pike. Think of it....a soldier has died in the line of duty, protecting this country, its people and all the rights we should cherish and all too often take for granted. What a picketter does is take those rights and throws them back in the face of someone they should be thanking for their sacrifice....and not only that, they are doing the same thing to all of that soldier's loved ones and family who are gathering to both celebrate and mourn a life that ended much too soon.

I know this looks like I'm ranting and raving, but I feel really strongly about this subject....maybe because I am so apalled by the behavior of many people who share my opinion on this war. And maybe it's because it seems to me that our military people are the most unappreciated, disrespected, taken for granted group of people in this country. I've gone on long enough....thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent, though. Have a good night.

They picked a soldier's funeral not far from here. In Michigan, you have to be 500 feet from a funeral and/or building. I don't think it's enough.

No, I would not picket a soldier's funeral, no matter how dismayed I could be of the war. I find that disrespectful to their families and friends.

I am a Christian, and I just want to point out how nutjobs like this lady are twisting our Bible around and just giving legitimate Christians a bad name.

The Bible says that a nation that loves the Lord will be fruitful, and I can see where people would take that as meaning that bad things happen in the US because we have turned our back on religion. Things like hurricanes, wildfires, terrorist attacks.

But to say that a soldier died because we condone homosexuality isn't right and is incredibly disrespectful. Please do not believe that all Christians feel this way. We have enough trouble on our own without help from people like her.

HELL NO!
Vick I am a veteran my self. In Jan will mark 8yrs in the Army!My unit is in Iraq right now!

I would never ever picket anyone funeral. Those people need to be on their knees thanking that solider family for giving his life so they could have the right to picket.

If I were there I would kick all of their azzez, and gladly go to jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELL No! That is so not right. No matter what your personal beliefs, you do NOT ruin a family's grieving time that way nor do you disrespect ANYONE, let alone a soldier, in such a way (unless, of course, he was someone like Hitler or Saddam Houssein). People who do do such horrible things deserve to be hanged, drawn, and quartered.

never.
that is so amazingly disrespectful.
being gay doesnt make any difference.
its not a disability so what should hold them back from being in the military.
thats as prejudice as not allowing an african american to defend their country.
its stupid and ignorant to say a homosexual doesnt belong in the military.

Oh no! How disrespectful to ANYONE who's passed ... let alone a soldier who put his life on the line so that I could have FREEDOM. Please ... a funeral is not a place to make a statement.

No; the nut-jobs that somehow link the funerals to homosexuality (or whatever it is???) are just plain low-lifes.

No! That person died for our freedom that we enjoy and take for granted daily. If someone does that...well then they need to go and live in war zone and then see if they would do such a selfish act.
