I've heard the new Avenged Sevenfold album and what happened? It seems like they sold out before they ever reached their potential. I like Synyster Gates as a guitarist, but all he seems to do is sweep picking. M Shadows was a good screamer and his singing is decent. But what the hell did they do with their new album? I understand that they wanted to move it in another direction, but damn. I liked a lot of their old stuff and I even liked some of their City of Evil stuff. I know there are those who were never into them, but for those who do like them, are you pretty dissappointed by the new album?

I actually love the new album, admitantly I didn't like it right away, but it grew on me. Dear God has become one of my favorite songs, and Little Piece Of Heaven could be one of the catchiest things I've heard in years. There new direction is different, but change is good in my opinion.

i am disappointed too. I know for sure Synyster could have done WAY more amazing solos that what he did and than dont even get me started on M Shadows......... but this is to be expected cause it happens to every band. They start out amazing and than fall into a hole. Now we get to see if A7X can make a great comeback and you know they will hit it with a vengance. But yes i was also dissapointed in this album, i was expecting a lot more.

A Little Piece of Heaven is awesome it is so different! I liked some of their old music and I like the new album and City of Evil.

I loved the first two albums, but i never really liked city of evil. I was really looking forward to the new CD, and was going to get it, since they said that it would be "heavier" and more like the second album. Then, the night before it came out, i listened to the new songs that had leaked onto youtube, and was utterly horrified. I mean, i kept listening to the songs over and over, hoping that somehow it would get better, but it didnt. I really dont like the whole "new direction" that they are going in. I mean, the guitars arent good at all, exept for one solo. The lyrics are horrible, not thought-out and dont even make sense, And M. Shadows looks like that dude from linkin park with his new hair. They have COMPLETELY sold out. I still love Avenged Sevenfold, they are my favorite band. But I do not consider this band to even BE avenged sevenfold anymore, i dont think that the new CD even deserves that name.
I offended anyone at all in my little rant.....then you will just have to suck it up, because the only reason you like this album is because you jumped on the bandwagon at City of Evil, because everyone thought A7X was "cool", and you wanted to be just like them. Congradulations, you like very sucky music.

at first it seems the only good songs are:
Critical Acclaim
Almost Easy
Scream
Afterlife
But the other songs really gorw on you
especially dear god and a little peice of heaven

Yeah, I think they sound just the same as they did on City of Evil. I have no clue what happened with them.

you know what alot of bands have been going into some kind of direction that makes there music more mellow than the ones before.... which kinda sucks like my favorite band aiden i like there old stuff but there new album is more mellow and its alright it also grew on me....

Actually, as far as what I've heard a lot of people liked it. I sampled it on iTunes, and I wasn't too impressed. Which is why I don't own it =)

i only really like 3 of their songs from the new album
but its not as good compared to their old stuff
