Ok, sorry that questions sounds confusing, but I need 5 books for my references/citation for my research paper, but I don't have time to go to the library so I have to look up something online instead...so I was wondering, would Journal articles consider to be a type of book? do you think I can use it instead of a book? (doesn't journal article comes from a book of some kind? or maybe I'm just assuming that...)

That would depend on your teacher, generally a journal article is considered to be something different to a book (though probably more useful since the journals are the primary literature).

The fact that a journal article is so short means that you'd probably be citing multiple articles (though there are usually a lot on any given subject) although they do often assume that you've some knowledge of the subject area (being that journals are used for communication by people who already know the basics).
