It doesnt happen all the time and was happening just than and I was just wondering what it could be. I am 11, nearly 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

It's a little early to feel your baby move as yet, you should start to feel flutters in about another 4-6 weeks. But the sensation you are feeling could well be your pulse as when you are pregnant you have alot more blood pumping through your body and you'll notice during your pregnancy that you'll feel alot of strong pulses over your tummy. Don't worry it's normal.

It could be nothing...during pregnancy there are hormones being released that loosen the tendons in your body. This caused a lot of weird spasms and pains for me. However, it could be a lot of other things. Gallbladder is the first thing that comes to mind. A lot of people that never have problems with their gallbladders suddenly get stones and stuff during pregnancy. I would definitely talk to your doc and make sure that all is well. Check out this website for other possible causes for pain/spasms in the right abdomen.

That far up, it is unlikely to be the foetus (which would be further down at this stage... and usually not felt until the 14th week). At the place you describe, is the colon (large intestine). Could be gas... Alternatively, it could just be a little muscle spasm in your abdomen.

It's sometimes hard to tell the difference between gas and baby movements. They feel very similar, in my experience.

My advice would be if there is any pain or it feels really abnormal go to the doctor have him check it. Abdominal and thoracoabdominal aneurysms may cause a pulsating feeling in the upper abdomen.

I reckon its just your pulse your feeling.
Its way too early for bubs to have hiccups or be moving which are the other possible causes.
