Hi!

A friend of mine wants to send me a New Zealand wine. Can my 17 year old niece carry it on the plane? It would be a flight from New Zealand to U.S.A. and then to Mexico.

Thanks!

OK- here it is- I traveled from NZ to the US carrying alcohol when I ws 16. In NZ they were quite happy to let me board. They served me alcohol on the flight. Guess what? US Customs will not allow a minor to carry in alcohol to the US. Its actually more than just customs- in most states, is illegal for an underage minor to even be carrying alcohol (its called underage possession). Customs was cool to me in my case, but Ive heard that they've tightened up over the years. If you dont want your niece to risk arrest for underage possession, I wouldnt suggest it. Have your friend pay the shipping- NZ wine is great, and will be well-worth the cost, in my opinion.

Nope. I'm 17 and I tried to carry it from New Zealand to Australia. They said no.

No, I am sure it's 18 in NZ - but in the USA etc they have to be 21 yrs old.
It's not worth the risk

you could carry beer on in case you will discover bottles 100ml or smaller! otherwise, on your checked bags it is going. No, Utah has no regulation against it, yet there is not any choose. Utah rules replaced very much 25 or 30 years in the past. i've got even been to a brewery in Utah!
