The fact that I don't want to be alone will probably drive somebody to think that I am too needy or dependent.

I KNOW why I've been single (alone) most of my life -- I am NOT going to settle for anything LESS than the best (anymore) ... especially since I'm also a survivor of a short disaster of a marriage (to an abusive, violent sociopath). I'd rather be SINGLE (and have been for a few decades) than settle for anything that comes along.
(And yes, this summer Fate/God had it in store for me to meet a special someone .. Kind, Gentle, Caring and Loving, Intelligent with a good sense of Humor ... and we started dating! Don't know where things will go from here .. but I waited a few decades, and I am just enjoying dating at this time)

All extremely elderly people end up alone...
When you're the oldest person on the planet...everybody you know and who knows and cares about you, is dead...
"Ending up alone" is a "myth" scare of our culture...which pushes the "Family Structure" scenario like a "product on the shelf" thinking that without "Father Knows Best" families...everything would crumble...
But we know that's not true...most people who start and have families...
Wanted to...it was a choice nobody had to "push" them into...it's...natural...and need not be "sold" to cultures like a cheap cigar...
Heaven Forbid You End Up Alone?!?
Heaven Forbid If You Buy Into THAT Old Groan...
Now...I have imparted my greatest wisdom to you, child...
You may go...live long with prosperity, oh inquisitive one...

single parent, not too worried about it either.
I know why I became alone,not my fault,stuff happened.
I know why I'm single,..I had a whole lot to learn, and stop settling so fast.
once I became good with just being me,things changed drastically, and it rained men, wow, how cool was that?
right now I'm just waiting for my special someone to return from the bush and see where that picks up again. Either way has to be ok.
I chose him,but don't tell him that ; )

I can be..... a beotch.
I'm horribly shy.
I'm very self-concious.
the list goes on and on..
So chances are, I will enp up alone. Because I can never meet face to face the amazing people who can see me for how I really am. So I'm stuck with the jerks here, and a few great guys who dont see me in that way....

The only way I would end up alone is if I were to start drinking again.

I tend to push people away. Surely I will end up alone because of it.
