it sounds like radiator fluid...was it green? if so thats what you got. check you radiator cap its at the front of the engine compartment the big black thing that catches all the bugs from your grill make sure it is topped off with radiator fluid and distilled water in the proper mixture and check for leaks again if you can see where the leak is it can give you a better idea of what needs to be fixed too. Like a cracked hose or a bad seal too.

Sounds Like Transmission Fluid & Coolant, Transmission Cooler Lines in Radiator Cracked! Check to see if there is Water/Coolant in the Transmission? Change Fluid & Filter in Transmission! Radiator will need Repair or Replacing!

Overheating would mean anti Freeze leaked onto the ground.
You either have a bad hose or a bad thermestat

Sounds like you dont top up your radiator with a coolant (that prevents the engine from over heating.)
the leak is brown in colour why, because the radiator is rusty inside.
let a mechanic check it.

mostly if it overheating then it is antifreez leaking, anyway you need to know is it oil on the groung or something like water , if it is like water then if it is blue it mean washer fluid , if it is red or grean it mean antifreez. if it is oil then if it is red it is eather transmission or power steering oil, if it is yellow or black it is engine oil.

if it had a color to it then it was antifreeze but if it didnt then it was water but it sounds like you blew the head gasket you shouldnt drive it or you will blow the motor
