You know, all of the people who are saying, "I'm not a fan" are ALSO saying -- "I never read the books or watched the movies."

THAT'S why they're not a fan. They can't call themselves ANYTHING if they haven't even witnessed it!

I'm a big fan, so I had to see this question. I've read the books and seen the movies -- and that's why I'm a fan.

You can't call yourself "not a fan" people, if you haven't even TRIED IT.

At first, I didn't even want ANYTHING to do with HP, but someone forced me to read it and I'm glad that they did. Of course the books are boring the first chapter, but by Chapter 2, you're hooked!

Definately not a fan. Seen all the movies (script-writers need to lift their game - I mean, they have some of the greatest actors in Britain in those movies and they look stupid) and read all the books. I think JK Rowling has an incredible imagination and very poor writing skills. The first four or five books I ignored the poor writing, because the plots were good, but by the fifth or sixth, it was highly annoying there just wasn't that extra something to make them great books. The first three-quarters of book seven were great, better than most of the series thus far, but the end of it was dreadful. Rowling lost her nerve or her mind or something. Terrible. Very 'wussy' and simple, for such a complex plot and it failed to wrap up the series well enough. I am completely disillusioned by Harry Potter, over it, whatever. I will see the rest of the movies out of curiousity, but I still regard the series as a waste. A great imagination wasted on such an amateur and poor quality writer.

I've watched all of the movies numerous times, and I am completely unimpressed.

The only characters at all interesting are the Malfoys and Snape. The rest... Surely they're somewhat better in the book!

Harry lies, steals, cheats, disobeys rules, spies and does all sorts of things you would expect from a villain, only he's not in the least good in that either. No matter what happens, his behavior is excused, and his house ALWAYS gets extra points for nonsensical reasons. Everyone says, "YOU are Harry Potter!", so in awe of him. It reminds me of the series "Walker: Texas Ranger", in which people speak his name in such awe-filled tones, yet he never shows why they should be so awestruck. It's the same with HP!

Ron is a whiny wimp who seems stuck in infantile behavior.

Hermione lies, acts out, cheats, and is a very dislikable person.

Yet, they're who we're supposed to like. I do not understand their reasoning.

I'll try the books someday, but if they are the mishmosh that it sounds like, I doubt that I will be pleased with them. So, why do these students celebrate Christmas? Broomsticks for all is an odd notion. The author seems to have tossed in bits and pieces, shaken them up and tossed them out to readers. I can only hope the books are better. However, I won't have the advantage of looking at the neat settings; I like the houses, the castle and the village.

That stadium: How many non-muggles are there after all?!

I'd better stop there.

I watched Harry Potter and I am sorry to say, but he is not an exceptional magician as the story try to push and oftentimes, if it wasn't for his friends helping him, he would not exist. I really do not see what's so special about him. After looking at the first movie for a half hour, it gave me a headache. It seems very dreary and demonic to have children indulge in.

Am a serious reader of the Harry Potter books.
They make a lot of sense.
I am not a 'fan'. He is a character, a very interesting character.
A character that I can definitely relate to.
A 'fan'? Of course not.
A reader does not become a 'fan' of the characters that he likes.

He still exists? I figured Snape would have eaten him by now.... Darn Harry is such a bore I have seen most of the movies and tried to read the books but to no avail I am not a fan.

l've watched some of the Harry Potter movies to see for myself what the fanaticism is all about.
l didn't get hooked or was inclined to read the 7 books. People just have varying interests so we cannot all like one thing altogether.
