I must admit, I'm the same as Christia. I sometimes take over the counter sleeping pills. (Nytol) Which help a little.

I'm going through a phase at the moment when I wake up in the early hours of the morning, unable to get back to sleep again. In the past however, insomnia has been the first sign of depression setting in. I know from experience that you shouldn't take sleeping tablets (herbal or otherwise) for too long (more than a week or so) - the effect wares off after a while. If I'm having a bad night, I get up for a while - it's better than tossing and turning. See your GP if the problem persists.

Yeah! I just hate this! No matter how tired I am, as soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm wide awake and my mind is racing! I sometimes wonder if its worth going to bed!! I have tried Valerian tablets from my local healthstore, and yes, these are great and do help me get some sleep, though I try not to take them all the time. If anyone considers trying them, they should first check that they will ot interfere with any medication they night be taking.

My problem is not that I can't fall asleep although it does seem to take me longer then most, my problem is in staying asleep. I use wake to wake up all night long, never reaching the deep sleep your body needs to replenish itself. After going to a sleep disorder doctor and several sleep studies I find out I have sleep apnea. I always thought that was something only obese people got, I was wrong.

Last month I went nearly two weeks without sleep, due to the death of a friend. Now, I am getting sleep in short bursts, but to answer your question...Yeah, I think all of us at some point can't sleep.

have you tried a herbal remedy you can buy them from all chemists or supadrug etc. It's called Nytol it'll help you sleep until you can get your natural sleep rythm back or theres Kalms same sort of thing. I know this sounds crazy but before you go to bed write down all your worries on a piece of paper and say goodnight to them. It actually works honest!

It’s just tonight though this is not the reason I am texting this.
I’d like to hear what’s bother you every night-time that’s preventing your slumber.
Well, I might be a good adviser how to deal with it.
