First things first....eat breakfast, and make sure it has some protien in it. Boil a bunch of eggs and keep them in the fridge. Eat one with an apple in the morning. A piece of toast with a slice of cheese. You need to jump start yourself in the morning, otherwise when you eat lunch later it is like throwing a big log on a dying fire. It won't burn, it just sits there and then turns to fat.
Babies love going for walks in the stroller. If you have a double this is easy. If not, put the little one in a back pack or have the older one walk and "help" push the stroller.
Get on the floor and roll around and play with the kids. Crawling really fast can be a good workout. Stand with your feet apart and hold your little one at arms length. Squat down so that the baby's toes touch the floor and then stand back up and lift your baby high. Then go back down again. The giggles will keep this one going for a while.
Drink lots of water, if your body knows it is getting enough, it will let go of the water that it has been holding onto. This can get rid of about 5 lbs in only a week of just drinking. You should be drinking at least 64 oz of water each day.
Good luck, weight loss is a hard thing to do.

What I have been doing that is effective for me is:
1) Eat a regular (1-person) size bag of pretzels. Or anything else that is less than 300 calories around 12-2pm. I say pretzels because they taste nice and are kind of filling.
2) Eat a less-than-1000 calorie meal around 5-6pm. This time range will allow you to burn off the meal by bedtime. This can be anything, as long as it's under 1000 calories. A Panda Express meal consisting of fried rice, spring rolls, and broccoli-beef is about 650 calories, just to give you an idea.
I know it may not be the healthiest diet in the world, but doing it this way, you won't have to exercise, AND you can eat what you want, as long as it's within that calorie range. Certain cheesecakes will fit within the less-than-300 calorie range. Doing this diet, I lose about 2lbs a day. Since I started about 3 1/2 weeks ago, I've lost about 21lbs. I stopped doing the diet for a little bit, but as soon as I got back on, BAM, I lost 2.5lbs.
Before you doubt it, try it for a couple days. Be sure to weigh yourself before you start, to see what weight you are at. I have found that the weight loss occurs in me during sleep for some reason. Try to get as much sleep as you can. The day after you've done the diet, weigh yourself in the morning when you wake up, you should be lighter! :^)

Hello my lovely,
I'm in the same boat...time to drop some poundage! Also a mum of 2, aged 34 and 10 months. Spare time comes all too infrequently so going to the gym is out right?! My weight loss tips are these....eat smaller, more frequent meals. If you don't eat till lunch time, then try not to scoff yourself then, and pace yourself well throughout the rest of the day and night. Pick a time at night, a couple hours before going to bed and don't eat after then. Limit yourself to no more than 2 pieces of fruit, eat no cookies or candy or my favorite, chocolate. Eat healthy, low fat, low sugar snacks and meals. Watch what you drink too....no more coffee's with cream and sugar, limit juice to half a glass or none!
As for excercise, recent studies show that you don't need to excercise to lose weight. Eating right will be enough. Exercise is a bonus.....so run harder after the kidlings, go up stairs to get that blankie even when you don't feel like it, etc.
You have 8 weeks to lose 20 pounds....I think it's fairly feasible. Don't overdo it though, particularly if you are nursing!
I always lose weight like this so I wish you the best of luck!

Same boat as i am. You have to remember it takes 9 months to put that weight on so it's going to take time to get the weight loss. The best thing to do is drink plenty of water 10-12 glasses a day, exercise, walking also eating right to. Whole grains, leaner meats, fruits, veggies healthier snacks. I've been doing this whole mommy workout myself I've lost 5lbs but it really does take time and eating right. You can't just skip meals. Eat your 3 meals and two snacks a day. Watch your calorie in take i'm doing 1200 a day.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Honestly, skipping meals doesn't make you skinnier, it actually makes you gain weight. It is important to eat breakfast lunch or dinner everday, but if you really want to loose the weight you should eat atleast 5 small meals a day which includes your main meals and snacks. Drink plenty of water too. If you can go to your local sports store and get a fitness ball and maybe some 8 pound weights. You can do some excercise while your kids are crawling around. Good luck and i hope you reach your goal!

I had gestational diabetes. I tell you that diet was the best and most effective I have ever been on. I weighed less 3 weeks post delivery than I did before I got pregnant.
1) Eat 3 small meals a day AND 3 snacks a day.
2) Limit carbs to 30 Grams per snack and 45-60 Grams per meal. I am sure you can find carb counting info on the net or a book. I got mine from the health center at Kaiser.
3) Eat at least 75 Grams of protein a day.
4) A snack can be ONE serving of almonds or cheese or something simple like that. You DON'T have to make a production out of each snack/meal.
5) Of course...drink lots and lots of water.

If you are not nursing and if you have the will power to stick to it, try a few weeks of total carb deprivation. I used this method for an extended period of time to loose weight with great results (114 lbs in 5 months). However I went with a no-carb, low fat plan and stuck mostly to fish, lean chicken and turkey, soy cheese and lots of green veggies. It is hard to do, but will produce great results fast and for a short term will not do a lot of damage to your body. Good Luck--MissDelanne

Okay. Cut out eating in between meals.
Only eat healthy food and cut down on Carb’s like bread, potatoes, pasta's, rice, cereals, lollies, fruits etc. These are the fat making foods. Learn exactly what your food groups are so you then know what puts the weight on and off.
Don’t add salt to your meals. Cut out soft drinks.
Then walk an hour every morning two hours after a meal and the same in the afternoon.
If you can jog in between both sessions you'll burn even more calories. But just do what your body lets you do. Walking is just as good combined with diet control.
You should lose and continue to lose more weight as you go.
If you can cut out your lunch meal and replace it with a protein drink instead that would also help. Available in supermarkets. Like “Slim Right”.
As long as you can stay off junk food and eating in between meals. If you have to eat something in between have something like small raw carrots or celery sticks.
Herbal teas, low fat milk and water are your best choice of drinks.
Summary:
Choose a cereal low in sugar for breakfast. Remember all cereals are carbohydrates!
Lunch can best be a protein drink. Like “Slim Right”.
And all normal meals at a normal serve. Cut down on potatoes and only have small portions of these. Walking as much as you can.
For those that want to build more muscle add some gym work to the above as well.
Technical Stuff:
All our bodies require a specific quantity of a protein level. The protein is taken from the food we eat. If we eat higher concentrations of protein from specific foods like say meat then that level is reached quickly. If we don’t eat enough protein then our body searches for other sources of protein contained within the Carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates only contain a small amount of protein so we end up consuming too much of it just to get out limit of protein. At the same time absorbing too much sugar from the carbohydrates and in turn too much weight. This is how and why we put on weight. Many people over eat because they don’t consume enough protein from the right sources. Then they over compensate by binge eating carbohydrate type foods.
