No. If he files a missing persons report than yes they will come look for you. If you let the police station know that you are moving and you have no desire to have your father know where you are going than no. There will be nothing that he can do about it either.
Good luck and maybe he will appreciate you after you are gone!

In a way yes, but open to abuse I should say. So you wanted to leave your dad when you turn 18, and ask the question that if ever your dad called the cops to find out where you are to check on you is this legal? Definitely yes, because he is your dad, parental concern so to speak, are you NOT his daughter? The saying goes, even a dog who is lost, the owner kept looking for him, imagine your own flesh and blood being away, you will not look for him or her? Blood is thicker than water.
At 18 you are still considered a minor, a young adult who donot know anything about life itself or the surroundings. Ain't you glad you still have a DAD who still cares for you in this harsh and cruel world? I had lost my dad recently, if only I could exchange places with you right now I will. You are still in your REBELLIOUS stage, by the time you get married and have kids on your own you will realize what a terrible mistake you done to your dad. But time wouldn't give you that privileges of knowing it, it will steal the moment like these to you and make you realize it is too late to come back, if only we could TURN BACK the hands of time we would actually return to the past, but life isn't like this.

He can call the police, but they aren't going to do anything. They will just check on your well being. Once they see that your fine & you explain to them that your dad is a freak (a controlling one, at that) they will go about their business. They have more important thing to worry about. I'm not sure where you live but in Michigan once you reach 17 & 6 months if you leave your parents house they don't consider you a runway. The law feels that 18 is the age that your parents MUST support you until, but not the age to which you must stay living with your parents. You'll have to check with the police department in your state to get more information on at which age they no longer consider you a run away at.

Nope.
First of all - once you hit the age of the majority, you're an adult and nobody can do anything legal in regards to locating you.
Secondly - I'm 18 (legal age is 19 here) and I've lived on my own for about 9 months. My mother has called the police twice on me. Once they didn't do anything to me, the other time they actually escorted her away.
Don't get me wrong - I love my mother, but she thinks I'm some kind of crack head for some reason (I don't, nor ever have done any drugs.)
Anyway, that's beside the point - no, once you're the age of the majority in your area - he can't do a thing.

That is definitely illegal -- it doesn't matter if you're his daughter or not. If you're 18 and he's calling the cops to search for you, that's invading your privacy. He can't do ANYTHING about it. The cops won't even bother looking for you. I also suggest getting a restraining order -- it's completely free. (Well, in my state at least. Why would you pay for protection anyway?! The Gov is supposed to!)
That's so creepy. Be extremely prepared - have a place and have your bags PACKED the night before you turn 18!

Yes and No.
The cops will not track you down and find you for him. But he has the same right as anyone else to do stuff like request a mental health check or welfare check (these are not parent specific and are low priority to cops).
Sorry but whenever I see a girl named Kim in this position I gotta ask if you are from Elkton MD and is your birthday in about a week?

Yeah, he's just being an ashtray. The police have more important things to do than play telephone between estranged family members.

He can ask for anything, but the police will not look for you unless they have a legal reason to do so. Checking up on you is not a valid reason.

The police may or may not do anything, but he can find you if he wants to badly enough.
