Which Team?
Which Player?

Being from Detroit and maybe a little bias, but i still think Detroit is the biggest surprise being 5-2 to start. Biggest surprise player to me is Tom Brady. Yes, i know some may wonder why. I say because he has a few weapons and now showing how accurate and strong of an arm he has. He also has receivers that can catch.

1. Who knew Jon Kitna could possibly be right?

2. Packers : No running game. Beat up receivers. A dominant team in the NFC? Woah....

3. We knew Randy would make some kind of impact (either positive or negative) but the Pats are putting up college football scores. Who knew Brady to Moss would be such a touchdown machine?

4. Ronnie Brown : On the worst team in the NFL with possibly the worst offensive line, putting up pro bowl running back numbers? (Too bad he's out for the season now)

5. Derek Anderson to Breylon Edwards : What?! Brady who?

6. Saints and Chargers : What happened to you guys? Starting to get back the rhythm but THIS slow of a start to get there?

7. Adrian Peterson : Wow. Hey Chester Taylor, this rookie is making you look like a rookie.

8. Vinny Testaverde : Just who in the world do you think you are? I'm just kidding, I respect senior citizens.

9. Colts defense : You lose Cato June and your defense is better? What? Bob Sanders, you are the man.

10. Tight ends in the NFL : The latest trend. With all the big wideout hype, a lot of you guys (with the exception of Gates) have been overlooked in the preseason evaluations.

11. Chicago Bears defense : What happened since last year?

12. Cedric Benson : See what happens when you lose Thomas Jones? Well, I didn't think you'd perform THIS poorly.

13. T.O. : Cowboys lose and you don't mouth off? Unprecedented. When will you blow your top? If you don't, I'd really be surprised.

Detroit but they were like 5-2 a couple years back and finished like 6-10. So, they have to keep it up. I say the Browns are the biggest suprise this team is actually competitive.

I live in Ohio and I've been a Browns fan my entire life. While I'm very surprised by the way they look this season, I agree with you! The Detroit Lions are BY FAR the biggest surprise this season.
I'm trying not to be too excited for them, as this could just be one of those fluke seasons and then they might mysteriously return to their earlier standard of sub .500 status. (LOL) But I am truly happy that their fans have something to cheer about so far this season. Trust me! I know what it's like to wait and wait and wait for a few wins.
:-D

yeah, Detroit is no doubt a surprise. my prediction in the offseason was packers to win the nfc north and bears not to make the playoffs, so that's coming true, but i didn't think the Lions would be this good. i predicted them to go 6-10 at best. looks like they'll shatter that one!

biggest surprise player: Adrian Pederson, aka, AD. Favre is playing just the way i thought he would behind a more experienced OL. AD i figured would do so so and play only part time, not making too much damage. i figured he'd be injured a little before half the season is over with.

*i actually did forget about Derek Anderson. he wasn't even expected to start. he has done extremely well this season. perhaps he belongs in the slot above AD.

I predicted that the Lions will go 10-6 this year so they are really no surprise to me. I would have to say that the Packers have been a plesant surprise and the Bengals a big disappointment. Also the Browns have played much better than I expected (not counting their 1st game against my Steelers).

Hmmm, this might sound odd, but I'm surprised by my Steelers. Even with that talent, I didn't think they'd do so well with a 1st year head coach who had not previously been a head coach, but here they are. The Steelers can easily rank at 3rd in the top 5 best in the NFL.
Favre is very surprising. Everyone thought he was over the hill last year, yet he is doing so incredibly well this year. I hope he continues to be very successful this year, as he is in the last year(s?).

GO STEELERS!
GO PACKERS!

I'm surprised that the NFL is still promoting Reggie Bush as some kind of great player and making all these commercials, when he has shown that he is no better than an obscure, average player at best.

Biggest surprise team: Cleveland Browns. Their record isn't great, but their offense has put up the 5th most points in the league. Their offense looked decent on paper, but has played beyond my expectations. Even Jamal Lewis looks alright after everyone thought he was done.

Biggest surprise player: Marc Bulger. Seriously, WHAT THE HELL? He is usually great, but this year everything he can do wrong, he does. Joey Harrington has better numbers, and he sucks and is on a crappy team.

Personally I think the biggest surprise so far is the Green Bay Packers now tied with Dallas in the division with practically zero running game.

Brett Favre has proved that he can still win games on his own, but with the worst running offense in the NFL, it still amazes me that GB is in this good of a shape.
