Southern California didn't have just one fire, it had a bunch of them. And some of them are still burning. The causes of the fires vary. Some were caused by downed power lines, one was caused by a kid playing with matches, the Santiago fire in Orange County was definitely arson, one was caused by sparks from a worker who was welding, and the cause of some of the fires is unknown at present.
