I do live in a subdivision myself but it used to be in the middle of nowhere surrounded by farmland that had nothing but cows. Now all these developers are coming in and building these huge a_s subdivisions that have some of the largest homes I have ever seen in my life. These houses have to be worth over a million dollars a piece. I think in the last year, there have been about 7 brand new neighborhoods that have sprung up in my area. I don't even have a view of the mountains anymore. It's just hundreds of big roof tops. I also can't figure out where these people work. It's crazy. What is my small Tennessee town coming to? lol

Totally know what you mean!

This is happening like crazy where I am living, and doesn't seem to be shaping up anytime soon. But what is popular with real estate now is the "McDonald Estate". Basically, they take a plot of land and build a HUGE house on the property, with virtually no yard, and sell it for millions of dollars.

It's happening EVERYWHERE here. The houses may not sell for millions of dollars, but this is the concept being used. Considering the fact that there are six and a half billion people in the world and counting, however, I guess it shouldn't surprise us that this is happening. I wish it wasn't.

Can't we just go back to the days of the rolling acres of land, and the cows out there grazing?

I would love, for once, to see a beautiful body of water out in the middle of nowhere that has NO houses near it.

Sorry. Got a little off topic at the end..but, it was worth it.

We really need to fight to keep what little reminders of how beautiful nature in it's essence is; because, I don't know about you..but I would love for my children and possibly even my grandchildren to be able to enjoy what we now take for granted.

its a shame that is happening. its happen here as well. most are northern transplants that have money that bash the south but yet come here to retire and ruin the community for everyone else and the greedy developers who buy up all the farmland. what a damn shame...!!!
