One of my favorite things is to have a bonfire on the beach. Most beaches have firepits for this. You can roast marshmallows and make s'mores.

The Boardwalk in P.B. Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, There is allot of thing to do here. If you go to Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, You have to eat at Country Junction Deli, it is owned and run by the nicest family you have ever met Abe and Sam, and the food is out of this world. Tell them Bill from Pauma Valley sent you in.

In La Jolla you can rent a kayak (solo or tandem) to tour the La Jolla Caves area. No experience necessary. Appropriate for kids older than 10 too.
If you like microbrews take the Stone Brewery Tour in Escondido and stay afterwards for some time in the World Bistro on site for 30 beers on tap and interesting food. Kids ok there too.
Go to Torrey Pines State Park and hike the trails including the one down to the beach. Walk Blacks Beach there for incredible views, solitude, and interesting views of the nude beach.
Recent wildfires limit options in the backcountry; call first to see if areas are open. Julian is fun and has great hiking in nearby William Heise Park but they may be closed down now b/o fire. Can do pick-your-own self service apple picking in Julian area. Apples we picked a few weeks ago still are fresh, sweet and crispy.

I agree with Kathy. I live in Coronado, and there is nothing more relaxing and romantic than watching the waves crash on the beach with my boyfriend as the sun goes down. If you're looking for something else, maybe head over to Gaslamp for the great restaurants, or Little Italy. Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach might also interest you.

Have you been out to Sunset Cliffs right before the sun sets...wow, what a sight to behold. I used to take my honey here often when we were dating. A really relaxing spot to hang out.
Why stay in San Diego?
- Why don't you head south of the border to "Las Rocas". I believe they are only about 6 miles south of Rosarito Beach. They serve some killer seafood here. One of my personal favorites.
- You can also do a wine tour in Temecula Valley...which is right up the I-15 North.
It sounds to me like you've experienced some of San Diego's best already...but there is always something new to see. Check out this list....maybe there is something you still haven't seen or done:

A nice half day trip is to a small farm/garden site east of SD. Its a beautiful place and is not too hard to get to. They have beautiful gardens and a couple of small, nice shops with some real unique items. They also specialize in soap making and have demos and fairs on soapmaking. Try:
