Since you need to get into medical school in order to become a plastic surgeon, your best bet would be to get into the best college you can possibly get into, especially one with good science programs. Once you graduate from a four-year college, you have to get into medical school, where you will go for another four years. Then you have to go for a residency in general surgery for 3-5 years, followed by another 2-3 years of residency in plastic surgery. No wonder it is so expensive!

I recommend that you matriculate at Harvard for you undergrad degree and then apply to one of the 126 or so allopathic medical schools in the USA, preferably: Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Duke, UCSF or NYU School of Medicine, among others, and then match into a direct track into plastic surgery, i.e. bypassing the traditional 5 years of surgery followed by fellowship in plastic.

The requirements are quite stringent, and this is considered a difficult specialty to match into, whether via the traditional route or the direct route. I recommend you seek the advice of a recent graduate of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency/Fellowship or speak to a competent pre-med advisor who can guide you through the multiple hoops that one has to jump through to begin considering a career in plastic/reconstructive surgery.

Ehh, screw it... just be a great Football player and get a starting Middle Line Backer position at Appalachian State U, Marshall or even better, go to FSU and be a corner or safety.

Get your degree in medicine first since that is going to be a prerequisite. You'll also need to work as a doctor first, then go after the higher education of plastic surgeon.
