Height: 5ft 7in-5ft 8in
Weight: 140ish
Im asian so I want to try as Mulan.

Can any former face character tell me what the auditions are like and what the judges will say?

I can tell you right off the bat that I think you may be too tall. There are very strict height restrictions for all the characters and though I can't remember exactly what they are at the moment I thought Mulan had to be 5'4" or so but I have seen the occasional 5' 7" Sleeping Beauty

You can absolutely check the requirements yourself when they are auditioning for face characters. Another character to keep in mind is Pocahontas. They do cast her as Asian and fair skinned quite often. You are also generally cast to play one character and sort of 'understudy' one or two others. If for instance you are cast as Mulan, you may actually be called in on occasion to play Pocahontas or even something else though being Asian I'm not sure what else. They also have plenty of costumed and parade performers that need to be taller so don't limit yourself.

Keep checking the audition page to see what they're looking for and when. Also, if you have an annual pass, go to the park and check out the currect face characters. Disney likes to cast replacements that look VERY similar to those they have in place already so that 'believers' don't notice a switch :-)

The biggest thing is to keep trying! You never know when Disney will have a mass exodus of people playing the roles of face characters. Sometimes they're off to bigger and better things or just different jobs. Sometimes they ship half of them off to foreign parks and need lots of replacements then looks and height are less important.

Best of luck to you!

To become a face character at Disneyland is tough all around. Obviously, I don't know what you look like so I am unable to comment on your chances, but Disney is incredibly picky about choosing people to represent characters known throughout the world.

Every face character has to go through a dance audition, even if the characters does not necessarily dance. It is a quickly-learned dance in a hot gym, designed to filter out the weak performers quickly.

If you pass the dance audition, you are measured in your sock feet, because height is important. From the casting notices I have seen, you are just barely the right height (most princesses are in the 5'2-5'7 range). A panel of auditioners looks at each person very critically to see how they compare to the Disney characters. Your smile is also critically evaluated, because heaven forbid Cinderella shows too much of her gums! At this point, more people are cut.

If you are called back, you are put in complete costume where you are again scrutinized by the auditioners. They may ask you questions in character. If they think you are a good fit, they will take you into the park where you interect with the public while they watch you. If they decide you are convincing, you are offered the role.

I say go for it! Be aware that competition is fierce, however, and the odds really aren't in your favor. But who knows... never know until you try!

Break a leg!

I think that if you want to be a character go for it! You also have to consider the huge responsibility that comes with the job. If you will be working at Disney Land or World, its very hot and the suits are uncomfortable to wear. If you are willing to bare all of that then go for it!
