It REALLY irritates me when trick-or-treaters are obviously too old to be trick-or-treating... without a costume! I've had grown men show up asking for candy... I toss one piece and shut the door!

Personally I am against the kind of begging that goes on at Halloween (the evening that we are supposed to hallow the saints). There is no longer any question of the children tricking you if you don't give them a treat, costumed or not. Your neighbour is quite within her rights to refuse beggars however cutely costumed. I would like to see the whole thing abolished. My wife has spent many an evening down through the years sitting by the door to give candy to children, some taxied in to our neighbourhood by their parents and missing out on her television programmes. Save their teeth; abolish it.

OMG, why would something like that make anyone angry? It's the kid's night, let them have some good clean fun and don't rag. Who cares if they have a costume or not????? If you are so peeved about this, don't participate.

no way am i going to give a kid any candy if he can't even put in the effort to dress up. in fact, i give each kid a letter grade for their costumes based on creativity, effort, and whether or not i just plain don't like them. then if they get a c or higher i hold out the bowl and say "go ahead and take one" but then those little shits try to take a handful so i yell "YOU GREEDY LITTLE **** I SAID ONE!" so i snatch that candy right out their hands, pick out the kind i like the least and chuck it right at them. right in the sternum. then i slam the door in their face.

no costume, no candy...it's usually older kids who think they are too cool to dress up. if thats the case you are too old to be trick or treating.
