I'm not a senior citizen, but can I answer anyway?

Just over 200.

And my favorite costume was a kid dressed up like a gumball machine! He had a blown up, semi-sheer plastic bag around him, cinched at the waist. It was full of blown up balloons of all different colors. And he had a sign taped to the front that said, "Gumballs 5 cents" (Sorry, I don't have a cents key!)

I thought it was creative. Other than that...I saw a lot of fairy princesses and a lot of the same mask from the halloween movie. I don't think parents are as creative anymore as they used to be. :(

There were about 50 - 60 trick or treaters around here last night. A lot less teenagers than usual. My daughters also said that there were a couple of teen males in the playground at the school, smoking dope. One had a baseball bat and the other a golf club...ready to break in a few windows once they got up the "courage". My youngest had her cell along, and called the cops...whose reply was "When and if we get to it."

My favourite costume was the little (2 year old) elephant in the big pink tutu...she was truly cute!

Edit...I have been trying to add an edit, and the system keeps on sending it to a page that says they can't perform that function...wierd. All I wanted to do was add the formula for getting a cent mark posted. Or maybe it is the cent mark itself that it is not allowing now. Anway the formula is hold down the (Alt) key while pressing 0162. When you release the alt key you will have a cent mark.

I was ready for the usual 30+. I think we had 12 show up! I 've got lots left over. Luckily(or maybe not)I bought candy that I like. Won't mind eating some of it. I plan to give some to my husband to take to work for the break room. My oldest son will be by later this week. I'll send him home with some too. We didn't really have a lot of "cute" ones this year. I did notice some older teenage children out. They were wearing masks. Masks are suppose to be illegal after a certain age. We have a gray cat that was sitting at the full length window storm door(she was waiting for the trick or treaters). One of the kids asked, if I could just give them the cat instead of candy! Told them, they would have to take me too! LOL!!!!

I didnt get any trick or treaters but as I was coming back from town I met the 3 kids that live above me and gave them $10 to split. I hadnt expected treaters so I didnt have candy.

We bought about 200 chocolate bars and ate a few while waiting (my personal fav are peanutbutter cups) and there were only about 6 left. I found the kids very polite this year, especially the older ones. All the costumes were great and a lot of parents dressed up with their kids. There were faeries and princesses, pirates ,aliens, vampires ,monsters, snow white, scream masks, unicorns, pumpkins and even a ketchup bottle. I guess I liked my grandaughter the best. She was Malice in Wonderland( Gothic) I guess this will be her last year to go trick or treating.

Oh yeah. so much I got some more candy before we were gonna run out.

Then when I got back only a few more groups showed so there's now hoards of candy everywhere. (The kids were earlier this year.)

The girl I'm living with is pretty upset about all the extra candy since she's trying to keep fit during winter so she's gonna dump it on her office buddies tomorrow, which was pretty funny.

But the coolest was this little guy in a spiderman costume who was really into the whole thing.

It was really cool seeing a bunch of kids out really enjoying themselves doing the whole thing vs all the big deal and scaremongering some of the adults put on it.

Never had a trick or treater in 40 years at this house. That's what happens when you live at the top of a dark, steep, hill.

Oh, trick or treating was just sorry this year. We only had two. However, the neighbors came out and we ended up sitting our front and eating the candy until about 10:00 last night.

We had a 4 year old dressed up as a robot.....his dad made his costume....it was adorable!

I had fewer than in previous years. Still have a bag each of Baby Almond Joys and Peanut Chews left. I rarely eat candy too... anyone want them? ;-)

My favorite costume was a young boy done up as a banana.

The neighborhood kids seemed to enjoy it, and I'm glad that many families are continuing the old traditions in spite of the paranoia of recent years.

I'm thankful to live in a nice neighborhood with decent, friendly people.

peace
