I was playing rainbow six vegas online and all of a sudden it froze and I turned it off and turned back on and then I saw the red ring of death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and now it wont work, so is there a place that I can take it to get it fixed? like bestbuy or some where? cause I did not buy this at a store I bought it from some guy about a year ago ( for 200$ ) and it came with everything except the papers like the instructions and the warrenty papers and all that stuff, so what can I do?

The first thing you should try is to call microsoft and try to register it with them. If they guy you bought it from never registered it then you should be OK. Tell them you got it for christmas last year or something like that. My son's crashed and they never asked for actual proof of when we bought it. They just wanted a time frame like christmas or something like that. Then red ring of death is covered under warranty for 3 years and since the 360 hasnt been around for 3 years yet you should be ok without the receipt. As long as the other guy didnt register it. If all goes well microsoft will send you a box with directions on how to ship yours back then in a few weeks you will get another one. You wont get yours back instead they will send you one that has already been repaired so make sure you dont have any goodies installed on it, remove hard drive etc. Then they will deliver it to your house. All of othis is free. Good luck.

Call Xbox. I think it's 1800-MY-XBOX or something. I've had The Ring of Death about 4 or 5 times. Get used to it. It will happen a lot. Expect 3 or 4 weeks without your precious 360. Sorry bout that!

I got the red ring red of death a few weeks ago. I called microsoft and told them the problem. They asked for the serial number and then after you give them your information they send you a box and you send them the xbox. I got it back within two weeks. You can contact them at 1800-4-myxbox or 1800 555 741.

call micrsoft xbox help line and then go through the with the computer talking to you and at the end request to speak with a human. If you purchased the xbox360 less than 1 yr ago, its automatically under warranty and u will get a new one. Although it may take a while.

That's why I've always only been a Sony gamer, I'm glad my PS3 doesn't get hardware failure!

Good luck getting your "coffin" box from Microsoft. I recommend that you permanantly put your Xbox 360 in a real coffin and bury it because that's were it belongs, in the ground. And then buy the 60GB or 80GB PS3. Its the better console anyways.
