for the idiots on here let me rephrase the statement we are newlyweds. that was one of our funny marriage stories and surely more to come we are in love not on the verge of divorce we are happy. and for the idiot that wrote: Unless you admit to being a pathetic, weak being that needs a chivalrous man to make up for short comings as a woman (ha!), get over it.
YOUR MOTHER IS PATHETIC FOR HAVING YOU.
I'm only inter stead in hearing from happily married couples who have any funny stories to share not the ignorant ones who wants 2 points this is not a story about who's right or wrong.
if this is pointless to you why bother answering why not hit next question! some people can turn something simple and funny to fit in there twisted unhappy lifes.

my husband has never left the seat up, he was well trained by his mum! personally don't care if the seat is up on not... i just flick it down when it's my turn.
the worst i've ever had is when I have left the LID down, and then sat on it in the middle of the night "WHAT THE..???" i tried to blame him but he just laughed at me lol

The never ending toilet seat saga hmmmmm.......that is one that I don't think will ever be settled. I have gotten in the habit of sitting down to use the toilet whether it's for #1 or #2.

As for funny marriage stories how about this one. My wife and I were on our honeymoon, camping near Jackson Hole Wy. I had a fire built and was getting the burgers on the grill and i smelled something so FOUL it was really bad. I said what the heck stinks, my wife grinned and said "that would be me". OMG I laughed so hard. I told her "honey I love you but I'm sleeping in the car tonight." I didn't really but it has made for some good laughs even now 18 years later.

I hope this brightens your day.

I leave the seat down.

i've often wondered why women complain about the seat being up...when the man can complain about the seat being down.

here's another thought that along the same lines...if women want to have equality in the world, then why don't they feel the need to ask men out and pay for the dinner and the movie!?

if that was the case, then i'd understand why women should make the same as men in their jobs. i think that employers pay men more because they know they are going to give the money to women by taking them to dinner and movies and other fun date ideas that we (men) have to come up with since it's tradition.

therefore...women should be nice and raise the toilet seat when they are done. it's time for a man to get something out of this deal!

i was on my soap box and probably didn't make sense...i get that alot. hope you laughed.

I don't know why people are so petty about toilet lids being up or down. I think it is so stupid and childish. It seems to be more women than men that have the problem with the toilet seat. Take the darn thing off and there would be nothing to get upset about..Ladys is it really that hard to put a toilet seat down, does it break your arm to do so. You don't hear men crying because you left it down and have to lift it up, now do you.. So what the hell is your problem?

haha Nice to see that you have a happy marriage and can laugh at yourself :) That's great :) I am one of the lucky ones - my husband always puts the seat down now... asked him to right from the start, but took a little while!! haha Six years on, he's great! Actually, we put the seat down and lid on top - nice to keep all the germs off and if there's any flies down... just one bad thing about that - don't forget the lid is down in the middle of the night....!!!!!!!!! hahahaha

Funny story!! Be happy that he lifts the seat up. Between my husband and my two 8 year old sons, I have to wipe off the seat everytime I go to the bathroom.

The only way he is going to feel a woman's aggravation with the seat being up is if he wakes up in the middle of the night with explosive diahrrea and sits down on the toliet without looking and falls and splashes into that cold water!! I bet he puts the seat down then!

Funny story... and I thought I was intolerant... My husband does the same thing, but I don't really care, because I use one toilet and he uses another one, so I never have to put the seat down...

I always put it up because I'm the one that sits on it most of the time and I don't want to sit in pee. Some guys don't even put it up when they pee and get it on the seat, so you should be thankful.

I get pissy about the toilet paper being put on correctly. The flap goes OVER not under.
