Im talking about your roots. How can you like emo but hate The Cure, or like metal and hate Metallica? To all the kids who dont know what real music is, why do you forsake older music for the newer stuff and disreguard the older stuff as "crap" before giving it a listen?

This may not apply to everyone but in my expirence I dont know anyone 17 and younger who is into the older stuff. Know your favorite bands roots.

I think i know what ur talking about mister. A lot of teens in my school and teens i know don't give that a chance
but i was raised to appreciated ALL kinds of music from my father. He always says "no school like old school" and really influenced me to listen to ALL kinds of music from present to past. I love everything about music!!
and like yourself I wish that people would find the time to listen to the good ole oldies :)
p.s. being a music freak i agree with u in the fact that many of the songs today were influenced by older artists.. which means people should appreciate n respect singer/songwriter/musicians from the past!

I wouldn't consider the 80's "classic". More of a borderline between classic and modern rock.
Also, it's unfortunate, but this also applies to a couple classic rock listeners as well, except they hate the modern stuff. Sure, the classics probably are better, but there are some good modern stuff too!
But honestly, classic rock is more of a time range, so when someone says they hate classic rock, they obvious focused on one or two genres only. There are way more genres.

I'm 13. and i go for anything that revolves around the word music, including older bands. I've been to my fair share of concerts of bands from "way back when" :]
