ANYTHING counts.
Your assignment being to write AS [the object] offers you such a w-i-d-e scope of opportunities.
being inanimate, you can develop story-lines that will challenge your own creativity!
Choose anything that catches your attention; the 1/2 empty coffee cup left on the counter top beside the kitchen sink. Explain how (you) feel being left alone, just as a reservoir for the accumulated caffeine to dry and stain your surface makes you feel SO USED.
>Turn this mood around as soon as you are noticed and washed makes you feel FRESH and NEW!<
Use many commercial ad tag-lines in your descriptions.

Sure, any object that humans use on a daily biases. Write it in a humorous way, as if the steering wheel of a car cares about turning left. Or you could write about an elevator that is full of the dunkin donuts type people, and wishing that they would take the stairs instead.

A Car Tire.
Different Threads of life.
Many choice Pathways to choose.
Distances covered.
Where you are going.
Where you have been.
Why you are important.
How you save lives.
What you transport.
Who you transport.
How you deliver.
What and who you deliver.
What you support. Trucks, airplanes, ambulances, tricycles, motorcycles, toys, etc.
What you are made of.
How you are recycled and why.
How you tire swings in trees and make kids happy. Some adults too.
How people use you (tire) for planters in gardens ie potatoes, etc.
Don't forget the flats too...very easy to fix.
How you are used in gardens as chips for decorations.
How you look very sporty with letters on ie Michelin lettered tires...
White wall, black wall, or lettered tire walls...
Different sizes and purposes of tires.
Tubes or Tubeless...belts or beltless.
Cost of a tire...and why?
Lots you could write about being a tire...
Tires never get tired.

All good answers above. Maybe I would add a gun. You could talk about how it was used to commit crimes. Or maybe even an old school room, talking about the many generations you have seen pass through and how much things have changed. Both of those topics are ones most teachers like.

a piece of paper from a notebook. "everyday, i always wait in anticipation until that day comes where i am used by another person. if im lucky, i could become a world famous speech, or i could contain the outlines to a new innovative creation. but of course, i still fear that i may be written on until I have no more room for good ideas... then im crumpled up and tossed into a trash can... or worst yet... a shredder".
i dunno? be creative!

Be the ground and talk about how you hate being walked on all the time.
Be a toilet and complain about the smell and how some people don't wipe the seat.
Be a cell phone and explain how you don't feel appreciated because you're always being used and then your owner always wants to replace you for a better model.
Be a TV and talk about how you feel like people are constantly watching you.
A remote and how people are always pushing your buttons.
A window and how you always feel invisible.
A mirror and how nobody trusts you because the viewer always thinks they are fat, thin, pretty, ugly, etc.

How about the couch you sit on, the bed you sllep in, the fake plant in the corner just attracting more dust each day. I think the plan of the couch would be good. You have many play on words possibilities with those.

What's the problem. Inanimate means something that is not alive. You've got a world of things to choose. Since you're a guy, why not be your favorite vehicle.

I think a mirror would be interesting and you can write from the perspective of seeing the same person's reflection everyday and the physical changes you observe as they go through different stages of their life
