You're welcome. Same back at you.
Vets are some of the most likely people in the country to be homeless and without medical care. It's a damned disgrace.

I absolutely agree with you.
Thank you to those fighting in Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Thank you to our military men and women who serve in honur of our country.
Thank you to the Veterans who served in the wars before, and who also protected this great country and her people.
To those who gave their lives in any of these wars... you will not be forgotten.
I for one, am forever grateful to you all. Thank you.
We hope that the Veterans will get and recieve better care as the days pass by. You deserve more than what you have gotten after your return.
To those still fighting... We all hope that you will come home soon and be with your own families for a very long time. Again... Thank You

I totally AGREE!!!! Our country would be nothing...we would be literally "up in smoke" if it wasn't for the harworking, dedicated, truly patriotic American soldiers that make up our Military force! We have been under serious attack, since Sept. 11, 2001, and our Military have been at work to continue to protect us from the terrorists groups, Muslim extremists organizations that are dead set on killing people of all nations...not just our country...the world! They are the enemies of our Peace process!!! It is a scary thought that within a New York minute, they can destroy innocent lives and countries!!!! That said, I must take this time to say, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of you...soldiers, your family, and our President and Military Advisors" There are no words to explain how much WE LOVE each and EVERYONE of YOU, ALWAYS and FOREVER, for all the selfless acts you perform on a daily basis to protect us, from all bad and evil. Mahalo. (Thank you in Hawaiian)!!!! My Uncles, all served in the Military...my husband, his Dad, and his older brother all served in the Army...WE LOVE and RESPECT THE AmericanMilitary Family! God Bless YOU ALL...!!!

I don't exactly agree with you, but I think that the appreciation of people like you is probably a very good thing for the Veterans themselves.
The reason I don't exactly agree with you, by the way, is that there is another way of looking at their service. Many are doing something they believe in, they are often risking their lives to some degree by doing it, but this is not extremely different from other people who risk their lives to do their jobs. There are very dangerous jobs in this country, and the results of those jobs often have big implications for our infrastructure, economy, safety, etc. So this isn't to say one shouldn't appreciate their service, but rather that it's important to consider the sacrifices of other U.S. citizens that aren't so often recognized as "heroic."
Yet another way of thinking about it is that our government owes our Veterans a debt that can never be repaid, since it is the government who is making the decisions about where they go, what they do, and the amount of danger to which they are exposed. Some military actions probably do good things for the country. Others are clearly only political in nature. In the latter of these circumstances, I'm more likely to consider the soldiers selfless martyrs than heroes or "freedom-fighters."

How can you pay someone back for putting their life on the line to protect your freedoms and way of life. There is no way. In my opinion vets ought to have the highest place in our society. If I had a choice to have a dream date with a policeman, fireman or vet, I'd take the vet anytime, all the time. Thank you for your service to all vets (and active duty military members) everywhere!!!

You are absolutely correct, and I would add not just US Veterans, Americans might want to share a thought for the Canadian, British, Australian and Danish troops in Afghanistan and in proportion to the size of Units the British have lost a lot of good men in Iraq.

We need to raise the pay and benefits of all military men and we need to make sure they have a home and preferential treatment for jobs and college and retirement benefits should be tripled. And even with that, I wish they could have more.
Thanks to all the REAL men (and women) and patriots!

yes. How vets are treated by liberal zealots is a crime almost as bad as the complete failure of the Bush administration in taking care of them when they return.

Absolutely. How can you repay a sacrifice like that -- The best I can do is give them the respect they deserve.
