hi, i bought a freeview box at christmas(one gone) and i set it up etc and i was getting brilliant channels, now i just got a digital aerial installed im gettin crap channels and hardly any, ive tried reseting it etc, first time set up etc but nothing is working what so ever, any ideas

Your aerial installer has got something badly wrong. It could be poor wiring, wrong type of aerial or poor alignment, its not looking at the transmitter.

It sounds like the digital aerial may be the problem. Also try the Scart and other input settings on the Freeview box.

Where I live some neighbours have poor reception. It could be due to a nearby tower block with mobile phone and taxi aerials on its roof, in line with the local TV transmitter.

It may be worth looking in your neighbourhood to see if there is any structure in the way.

There is no such thing as a digital aerial. Being an old timer I recall when folks were buying "color" antennas for their color sets. ChannelMaster cleaned up on the notion that color reception needed a special antenna.
It is always best to use an aerial tuned to the channel you want to receive.

we had the same problem, my son a sky installer and he said we needed a amp for the aerial he did this and put us more connections for upstairs now all TVs running fine

Get the installers back, and point it at the correct transmitter!
