uninterested/unconcerned, because they are American children who are not required to be war targets to defend one leader and his/her guards, as other countries or nations require of their young people.

Unconcerned and uninterested are not exactly the right words. This having been said we have to-day too much information whether it is war or peace or technology or the personal intimate lives of actors etc. This being the case --the students have to make a choice and prioritize their use of time and reading and that includes worries and concern and interest. Thus, the picture emerges that a continuous war like the one in Iraq -- does seem to attract less of their attention --on the surface but deep down they care and they place in high esteem those soldiers who sacrifice their lives. Case not closed.

Ipods, cell phones, mp3's, sex, now where is any interest in a war "that doesn't concern them" going to fit into that? Well, when the draft notices start showing up in the mail . . .
