We use to catch garter snakes when we were younger - but now I couldn't even imagine handling snakes..

Yeah. I used to work in a pet shop when I was in college, and I had to take the snakes out for customers all the time. No biggie. Now feeding the snakes was another story! Blech!

Yes--got to hold a python around my neck when it was with a traveling zoo exhibit.
I've had a 6 foot water moccasin trapped in my closet before, too--but I didn't touch that one. I called my husband to come home from work and kill it. (If you're not familiar with these, they are very aggressive snakes and it was coiled up with its head up like a cobra and its white mouth all open and hissing at me.) Pretty wild!
