As long as it is water based paint and you open the windows or turn on a fan. ANd then of course get fresh air regularly then it shouldn't hurt a thing.
My mother in law and my mom got so mad at me for painting my baby's room during my first pregnancy... So I called my dr. and asked him and he said to tell them to relax.. as long as the room was ventilated the baby would be fine.
You can also us one of those white masks.
Have fun painting and Congrats in advance

Painting is fine but make sure the area is well ventilated because the problems arise when you inhale too many fumes in a poorly ventilated area and start getting headaches. These can then raise your blood pressure which isn't good.
BUT as long as you take lots of breaks for fresh air and have as many doors and windows open as you can, then its totally okay. You're going to have this baby in the next couple of weeks anyway (I wouldn't do a whole house at 20 weeks though!)
Maybe try asking you paint shop for a low odour version of the colour/paint you want to use. Oh and don't go climbing on any ladders!!

wow, you have the energy to paint!! Good for you.
My doctor told me it was fine but I could try the low voc paints which are less toxic if it made me feel better. He said he wouldn't recommend painting for a living during your whole pregnancy but to do a well ventilated room using gloves, goggles, etc. was fine.

I would have to say not a very good idea, but your best bet would be to speak with your health care provider and ask him or her what they think. If it needs to be done, see if you could get a friend or family member to do it while you are out for the day. Congrats on your new baby and best of luck!

painting no, but sanding maybe.
Sherwin williams has a new paint out, low voc, odorless fume free and eco friendly, try that if you have any concerns, take it easy, and go slow, ask friends to help.

I would advise to have someone else do it! If you have to do it then make sure the room is very well ventilated, all windows open!

Just keep it ventilated and use common sense. If you don't feel well, something isn't well, take a break.
