The two players - Kirilenko and Howard are two of the Top blockers in the NBA. I would not be surprised to see them having those numbers on high nights.
Kirilenko had 144 blocks last year and Howard had 156.
Only Camby, Josh Smith, Duncan , J. Oneal , Ben Wallce, Okafor, Dalembert, Brand had blocks more than 140 last year and you may see them having more than 5 blocks in a high night statistically........

It's definitely not a new era. Shaq had 15 blocks 1 game in '93. Manute Bol averaged 5 bpg in '86. If anything, AK, Dwight, Okafor, Josh Smith and Amare is bringing it back to a focal point because players like Ben Wallace, Jermaine O'Neal, Camby, Mutombo and Shaq have been doing it for years.
Don't forget the retired vets: Olajuwan, David Robinson, and even Shawn Bradley.
All of those players hold records in the bpg category.

The only player to come close to avg 10 BPG was Bill Russell but that was before the whole stat sheet of taking down BPG and SPG. It's just a word mouth from what people said.
Today that hap ping NOOOOOOOOI can see 5 blocks per game. Look at the rules of the game its set for perimeter players

Well, first of all, those 2 are great shot blockers, but no, within an 82 game season, stats eventually even themselves out.
