look at what behaviors you are doing that are keeping you from getting to your goal then make steps to change those behaviors not all at once but in baby steps. so breakdown the problem basically. look at your long term goal then identify the problem. then make a short term goal that facilitates your long term goal. then an objective that you have to meet that relates back to the short term goal and long term goal. then the steps your are going to take to meet that objective.
so here you want to loose weight, but you have to be specific. so you wan to lose 5 lbs. there's your LTG. now what is the problem that is keep your from this goal? here i would assume that you are eating large meals or foods with high fat. your STG would be to eat smaller meals and foods with less fat, again being specific. you want countable goals not abstract goals that you cannot keep in check with say a scale or something you cannot physically count. an objective would relate directly to your STG so it would be something like i will make meals with only 2% fat or something like that. and an action plan would be i will go grocery shopping and only get 1 fatty item.
you can have as many objective as you want but make sure to set realistic completion dates for each objective. it's important that you makes this plan and not i since it will 1). be yours and have more meaning and 2). you know yourself strengths and limitations better than i
as far as thoughts go, you want to change your relation with food if that is the problem. learn about nutrition and eating disorders so that that doesn't tempt you. then more you learn about your body and how it works the more control you'll have over yourself.
and a tidbit of info: that grumble you might feel is not a sign that you are hungry but your stomach responding to the change in an eating pattern. form what i remember, you need to eat every 5 hours. food with fiber is best.

Yes burning calories is the key to keeping off weight. Push yourself to do some routine every day. Working out 7 days a week for an hour with 1 or 2 days off every month is cool. Forget buying those stupid exercising equipment they will gather dust in years to come. Running, playing sports, or just making up some game and playing it religiously is very cool. Self defense classes are cool and can get you out of a tight jam.
The better shape your in the more women will be interested. Its being in good shape first , then intellect a distant second. Don’t be fooled by the Mall scene. Mall people are an enigma.

When you get disgusted with yourself... I mean really disgusted, then you can start to understand that its time for a lifestyle change. Until you've reached that point, you may start and fail many times. When you're reached the point when you can't stand yourself... much less think other people can tolerate you... then you can start to change your way you live.
1. Committment. I will not fail. I will not fail. I will succeed
2. Shut your mouth. You do not need to eat all that crap. And its crap isn't it? ISN'T IT? Get real. Size does matter. Portion sizes are a killer.
3. Get off your butt. you must exercise. Bottom line: you must burn more calories than you take in. Period.
Good luck!

Remind yourself on a daily basis why you're doing it, and just because I want to look better isn't good enough. Also, the rewards also come in how you feel when you keep going through it. I gain so much more energy when I exercise and eat right, that merely a few days of eating badly leave me exhausted.
And sometimes, it's just good old fashioned will power. Find other, healthier choices to take the places of your "weakness" foods.
And learn to forgive yourself when you do fall off the wagon. Just vow to get right back on it. "All right, I had that cookie. So what. For dinner, I'll make sure I have a salad and not that cheeseburger." YOu can reward yourself, but try not to make it food. I used to buy myself sexy undies. Oh, it's funny to think about, but wearing them makes me feel good. And what happens when you FEEL sexy? You have more energy, you get up and do more things (aka exercise more), and you're more likely to continue.
If you're an emotional eater, find other ways to deal with your emotions besides stuffing them. LET THEM OUT. I LOATHE arguing with my husband, but I eat far less when I tell him when something he does hurts me.
That's about all I can think of. Good luck to you!!
