If 18 out of 18 say you are wrong, you should reconsider your position.

If 18 out of 100 say you are wrong, you may be right.

No. There is a possibility that you are wrong, but there is also a possibility that you are right. The reason why the 18 people disagree could be because they do not see your point or you cannot express your point well enough to comprehend. I would definitely reflect from two sides of the story but if I still believe my point is right, I will hold on to my beliefs. Once, I went camping with my classmates on a school education trip. The tent was not pitched properly. 6 of the my classmates did not want to re-pitch the tent again and even said I was not being co-operative. I then said " If we can make the tent better, why not?" They still disagreed. But in the end, due to another reason, they had to pitch the tent again. The tent was then bigger and stood firmer then before. Finally, I prooved to them I was right.

(Sorry, if it was too long-winded)

I guess it depends on a lot of things. If these 18 people know what they are talking about or if they are just some joe blows of the street. And what the topic is. But I suppose if 18 people told me I was wrong, I would consider the option I was-doesn't mean I would though. And How many of these 18 people I know. If I don't know them, I probably won't care as much about what they think. And how many people told me I was right???

If anyone of those 18 can give me logical, provable, reasons why I'm wrong, then I'll back down. I'm not infallible, but neither are those 18!
But, my instinct is always to stick to my guns because I won't stick my neck out in the first place if I think I'm wrong.

I have had this to happen in so many terms. If I believed in what I was standing up for then I don't think I would be wrong, nor would I be sidetracked by the 18. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and say hey, I believe in ME

Eighteen out of how many? On what subject? What are their qualifications? I make it a point to try and NEVER be wrong. Chances are, I'd stick to my guns.
