Sometimes the cheap people would give us leftover Easter candy. It was old chocolate coated with that weird white stuff...also there were those hard mary jane candies...I always wondered if those were re-gifts?

One time I found staples in one of those chocolate gold coin things. I was probably around 9 and lived in a very rural area, so that's not just limited to the city, which is stereotyped for that kind of thing on Halloween. It's always good to check things that could easily be tampered with (the coins are wrapped in foil).

I never had any problems with candy. But it may be best to only go to houses if you are familiar with the people who live there, just to be safe.
