This time of the year seems to be a bit more PEACEFUL. I wish all year was like that.

Nothing means more to me than having my family all together for the holidays. Thanksgiving even more than Christmas.
Sadly, that won't happen this year as my son is spending a second Thanksgiving and Christmas in Iraq and his wife and child are on an Army base in Texas. My daughter and I will make the best of it and have good days together, but it just won't be the same.

Christmas =

family getting together and eating and drinking too much and generally having a good time, getting presents (even though the older you get the crapper they get it's still the thought that counts!). All that sort of stuff, everything about it really I love Christmas, I'm like a big kid when it comes around.

Thanksgiving = N/a.

But i suppose if I was American I would like similar things about it that I do Christmas, not the presents obviously but the friends and family get-together and stuff.

I like thanksgiving because I get to spend time with my family and everybody brings their favorite dish. And for christmas I like it because well basically the same thing.

Thanksgiving is fun because our family loves to eat. Christmas is fun also. Just being together is more important than any gift.

The day after. When I was married, the holidays were always a pain. Since the wifes parents were both remarried, it was like we were driving all over the place to celebrate. Then, we bought the biggest house, so everybody came to our house, which was much better, but still sucked because of past feuds. I now live with my dog in a brand new 30' travel trailer, and I love it. No more Bullsh*t!

MOST employers give the day off with pay--but the retailers like Wal*Mart are now OPEN Thanksgiving Day, and who knows if Christmas is not far behind.

Time off work to relax. Family is a nonissue due to the distance involved; I only see my immediate family maybe once a year and generally not during the holidays.
