Halloween was filmed in 21 days in the spring of 1978 in South Pasadena, California and Sierra Madre, California (cemetery). An abandoned house owned by a church stood in as the Myers house. Two homes on Orange Grove Avenue (near Sunset Boulevard) in Hollywood were used for the film's climax.[10] The crew had difficulty finding pumpkins in the spring, and artificial fall leaves had to be reused for multiple scenes. It was filmed in the spring in California. They had to blow leaves on the ground to make it look like fall and had to make sure not to have palm trees in the background. If you pay close attention to the background sometimes you can see a palm tree.

I believe that it was filmed during the summer. If you notice, the leaves are really green!
