Perhaps the answer to these questions is disappointing. Nevertheless, the honest answer is that Celtic symbolism is not that concrete. For one thing, there are no written records of what the various knots symbolized at the time they were originally created.

Sounds like a triquetra (http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bldefstriqueta.htm) to me, but it could be random knot work...or just some made up junk that looks "Celtic".
I'm sad to say that the popular commercialization of Celtic culture has given rise to a whole market of nonsensical garbage that looks alien enough to be passed off as Gaelic/Celtic.

usually symbols on jewlary come with a tag of some sort, to say what it means. otherwise, look up some symbols on google, or ask around your shcool
