The days of commercial travel in the NHL ended after 9/11.

The proceeding airport delays and security protocol made it too difficult to ensure timely travel or any guarantee that all the team luggage/gear made it from city to city.

No NHL Team will fly on a commercial flight. A player that has recently been moved though may meet the team via Commercial Air.

Zap, there is still some commercial travel (estimated at 25% last year). The Capitals returned to Washington from Toronto on a commercial flight yesterday.

Yes, it is pretty exclusive to charter flights. I have often seen the check in lines at airports where they even have the logo on the sign.

Also, these guys are not eating your traditional "airplane food"- steaks for those boys.

It makes no financial sense to easily very own a airplane (and we will not even get into the insurance ingredient of issues), besides the fact that if communities fly on chartered airplane. they are in a position to purely pull up, get on, and go (surprisingly after video games).
