So if I get a TV-Tuner for my computer, can I set it to record a certain channel for a set amount of time?

like 1 or 2 years ago I shelled out for a thousand dollar computer, so technically it is up to date. It is just a little shy of a GB of RAM

You need software to do that. I have 64bit Ultimate and an ATI TV wonder 650 and I can do it right thru Vistas Media Center--except for the drivers, I don't have any other ATI software in. You can use Snapstreams Beyond TV software and use it with XP and do the same thing with about any TV tuner. If you have one of those 2 inch long PCI-E slots that seem to be good for nothing some TV tuners are PCI-E which is a faster slot than standard PCI.

you need a decent computer to run a TV recording card.

You need a better computer than the say on the card specs

If you had a computer similar to the minium specs you can run the tv card and watch TV, but if you want to surf the net or do a word document or email or excel you need a modern spec up computer way better than the tV card spec.

Yes you can set it to record when you want.

It can be done. Depends whether you're lucky enough to have come with the card.
