I attend UCLA and my high school GPA was a 3.95. My SAT scores were low, SAT 1:1180 and SAT 2:1410. Colleges look at your grades, but they also see if you played any sports and they also look at your situation. I played sports in high school and being from a ghetto neighborhood and being poor really helped me in the application process. If you are Asian then you need to be almost perfect on everything. They want the school to be diverse, there are 45% Asians here. Oh yeah I am Mexican-American, that also helped.

According to the College Board, 91% of students admitted to UCLA had GPAs over 3.75, which would say to me that most were over 3.9 or so. All three schools state that 99% of admitted students were in the top 10% of their classes.
As to SAT, if I look at the halfway point of their range (middle 50% of admitted students), they range from 1925 at UCSD to 1940 at UCLA to 2020 at Berkeley.

You obviously need some pretty high grades and SAT scores, but it's more than just that. You have to be a well rounded student, not just one focused on academics. Some of my friends had 3.4 GPAs and 1100 (out of 1600) on their SAT but they got into Cal because they were well rounded or recruited for athletics. Keep your grades up but stay active in other extra curricular activities as well.

High school 3.4 + ! I am not sure about sat scores ...probably high enough ..those are good schools ! Good luck !

the higher the better but if you are of an ethnic group that is not caucasian then you can get in with less
