The Liberals have made a nation of dependents by giving everything they can think of to people for their vote. Now they think they deserve it. Its not Welfare, now its entitlements, Its not food stamps anymore, its EBT cards, credit cards so as not to embarass anybody when they buy their T-Bone steaks with our tax dollars....Now Hillary wants to add another government freebie program healthcare free for everybody making less than 250,000.00 dollars, who is going to pay for this one ......... ########

So you don't deserve any talents that have a genetic basis, right? And you don't deserve any money you may earn from those talents, since you have done nothing to earn those talents in the first place.
What on earth makes you think people deserve anything they get? Even if a person earns a lot of money, he or she will only have done so because they happened to be born in a certain location instead of another location. If Bill Gates were born in Sudan, he would not be rich. We do not control who we are, what our talents are, where we were born, who our parents are, etc. Why should we "deserve" anything that follows from these? You have been given certain benefits based on all sorts of things you have done nothing to deserve. Your belief that somehow a person "deserves" something because they were born in a certain circumstance seems rather quaint, and frankly, self-serving.
Why do you say that things provided by parents other than food and shelter are privileges? What criteria are you going by? Why food and shelter, but not care? Or education? These things are just as essential to life as food and shelter are.
And also why not apply your argument against health care, pensions, and welfare to all other things which are paid for with taxes? Shouldn't we also abolish the police forces since people get free protection under the law paid by others and which they have done nothing to deserve? And the military? And fire services? Unless you are a pure anarchist, your logic is going to end up contradicting your beliefs.
I hope that you email me. I am curious if you are consistent in your beliefs, why you seem to think food and shelter are rights but other things not, and why you think you are entitled to things you have done nothing to deserve. I hope to have a genuine discussion. I really am curious since I have never met a person who believes like you do and were able to offer a good reason for their beliefs. But there is always a first time!

I cannot believe that anybody can go around asking questions like that in 2007! Where were you in history class? Hitler already tried to kill all the "undeserving" people that he could think of! And now, we have been paying for a war that we supposedly won a few years ago! Do you have any idea how much that war has cost us? Have you ever seen any starving people? Often, you cannot tell who is starving by looking at them. If you went to a potluck supper with 100, and 10 could not bring anything but offered to help, would you make them leave? ^6 of them are children, 3 disabled, and 1 cannot find a job. Now what? Do you have children enrolled in public school? Most people are not receiving "welfare as we knew it" since Clinton was in office, the only ones still receiving are under 18, too disabled or sick to work, or taking care of people too sick to work. Would you really want to go to work one day adn find the worker next to you coughing and offering you his germs? Within a month, you would get so sick that you would be cursing your own plan! Many people worked their entire life for low wages, even in the "good 'ole USA" and receive less than 100 US dollars a month for a pension, including teachers and other important people. Most people do have enough relatives paying taxes to cover what small amount they receive in foodstamps or medi-cal insurance, (which pays for almost nothing-get sick, and your dead) but welfare was created to assist those who do not have any family and possibly to reduce the influence of wealthy parents who often use their wealth to control their offspring! Some of these fathers even molested/raped their children, and then kicked them out into the streets! You do not have to go too far back into history to observe this, just go to one of these "neighborhoods" that you are talking about, and you will observe a much different lifestyle than the one you have pictured in your head. If God and karma do not influence you, maybe common sense will. In some major cities like San Francisco, people do not live so far from each other, rich or poor. Germs have a way of spreading very easily, through schools, corporations, stores, playgrounds, etc. You will risk getting TB or antibiotic resistant staph or some other horrible illness just to get "revenge" on the few people who cannot work? Here is a question that is asked of people who want to work as a teachers aide in schools in California: pick the correct answer: A. I could not do my homework. B. I would not do my homework. C. I can't do my homework. Now it is the same as your wuestion, who really knows the answer?
As for the marine who harrassed a person in the store because of what they were buying, shame on you! You should have been removed from the store! Would you walk up and congratulate the person using foodstamps to buy seeds for their garden, dry beans, flour to make their own bread, and keeping their kids home from school to work the garden? In a way, all military and public officials like the president are receiving tax dollars, and why do you think you deserve it?

Okay, rare2findd, I wasn't going to answer this, that is until I read in another question about how the first car your mommy and daddy bought you was a corvette, and now at 24 you drive a Lexus, and YOU have the nerve to talk about entitlement? What exactly did YOU do to deserve that? Because you chose to be born into a family that had money?
Health care and pensions are a way for companies that actually care about their employees to help them get through life without having to worry about how they will care for their loved ones if they aren't "privileged" enough to have mommies and daddies who can afford to spoil their child with Corvettes on their 16th birthday! Done nothing to deserve? Working for people who only think about themselves is doing a lot to help YOUR parents be able to buy you whatever your little spoiled behind wants!

Pensions, social security & medicare are all programs that you pay into while you are working. When you reach retirement age or God forbid you become disabled for some reason you ARE entitled to these because you paid into them all of your working years.
Welfare, food stamps & medicaid are different. Everyone that works and pays taxes pays for these. Unfortunately there are some people that feel that they are entitled to these because that is all they know. Others use these programs to help them through difficult times, temporarily which is fine. I do believe that all children should have medical coverage and pregnant women.
My husband and I have both worked since we were teenagers and I had no problem asking for help from these programs when we were down on our luck, afterall we help pay for them and only needed temporary assistance.
Not everyone that gets food stamps and medicaid are lazy sometimes things happen in your life and you need a little help.

Seems to me that you and George C. wouldn't know the truth if it bit you in the ***!! Before you judge others, remember that is not a priviledge. Judging is for one only and unless your name is God, I suggest you find something better to do.
I am sure many also believe the wealthy people's kids are spoiled snobs that do nothing for what they receive either.
Stereotyping of anyone is never a good thing and if you got a great eduaction with those big bucks, you would know that.

You will get an arguement for pensions and social security as people pay into those and hope to retire some day. Welfare is a mental thing, and we have about four generations who know of nothing but welfare.
Its the right of every person to make a living and based on how hard they work, their income and social status would reflect that. The welfare bunch sit around, do nothing, drive nice cars and live in dumps.
Travel around any major city and you will see what I am saying. The working people are getting tired of supporting these people and we are going to see a change, hopefully.
I work 12-14 Hours per day, five and six days a week. My wife works10-11 hours per day, five days a week and its all we can do to make ends meet, after all the taxes we pay to support these welfare people.
Health care is something you have to earn. Anytime you hear a politican talk about all these programs they want to start, ask them " Who is going to pay for it"?
Nothing in life is free, someone has to pay for it and yes, the Government has YOUR and MY tax dollars sitting there for their pet projects.

a lot of sturdy solutions here. I did desire to characteristic that human beings do no longer seem to have a artwork ethic and experience of making waiting for the worst on their very own. Like while Katrina hit in New Orleans. human beings did no longer have a plan, they weren't arranged and a lot of them have been herded like sheep into that activities area place. They have been waiting for the government or whoever to swoop in and preserve them. nicely, in this abode, I genuinely have emergency factors reachable. I genuinely have an emergency evacuation kit, I in no way permit me gas tank get below a million/2 finished. I genuinely have funds reachable. I genuinely have drugs or perhaps iodine pills in case of nuclear issues (stay close to a means plant). I genuinely have batteries, candles, non-perishable foodstuff. If a disaster occurs, i'm waiting. i'm comfortable and arranged. What of those human beings in New Orleans? They have been like the Israelites waiting for Manna... or in spite of the fact that it replaced into called. We have been all meant to preserve them. in reality, I nonetheless think of lots of human beings down there are on some form of government help and waiting for us all to pay. nicely, i'm sorry. while the going gets stressful, the stressful could get going. If one plan does not artwork, make yet another plan and preserve your self. i could have moved far flung from there and gotten back on my ft, in spite of the fact that if i replaced into sweeping flooring and cleansing bogs for a residing. the place is their satisfaction?

Being born of privilege is one reason.
Another is laziness. And also ignorant yet arrogant presumption!.
Oh well, this is a rather naive question!
Oh, correction warranted. Omit born of privilege, now that I realize the "e.g" following below, the central question.

What are you talking about? I've paid into social security my entire working life. I've also paid taxes. I didn't have a choice about either one. When I retire and collect Social Securiy and go on Medicare I'm simply getting back some of what I've paid in. If I fall on hard times it's in the best interests of me and my community for me to get some of that tax money back in the form of short term assistance. The sooner I'm back on my feet and contributing to the tax rolls, the better it is for everyone.

it is perpetuated by the liberal democrats who want power over the uneducated and poor of our society.
Is it "compassionate" to tax people to death, steal their money in the name of "the greater good" and punish further those who work hard, while rewarding those who are lazy.
I am a US marine. I was standing in line at the grocery stone while a woman was in front of me with steaks and high priced health foods that I can't afford...........she paid with food stamps, and right there in the store I tore into her and almost flew off the handle. I thought why am I serving this nation while it smacks me in the face. My wife and I will have hamburger helper tonight while she has a t-bone with her family.
