I really don't know if this is legal in the UK but Ive heard of a thing called Sky Burial. They build a wooden platform high off the ground and lay the body out upon it, then the carrion bird and bugs etc do their work. Later the family comes back to collect the bones that have been stripped clean and place them in a terracotta jar, which is then buried. That's what I want. How realistic it is, is another matter! Failing that I want to have one of those woodland burials where they plant you without a casket at the root of a tree in a sacred woodland and every tree has a plaque for the person buried there. It seems nice to feed life, and whether it be birds or trees I'm happy.
(Yeah, I do know that's a bit weird)

I would rather be cremated:burnt to smitherines, turned to ash and scattered somewhere that I love to be. Then I can be set free-floating in the wind.
I think cemetries must get so overfull with so many people buried there. And the space a coffin needs compared with a small box or container for ashes. Being cremated for sure,I'm not in a great hurry though!!

I think I would like to be cremated, that way my family and friends can remember me as I was looking at my pictures, full of life and cheerful, instead of looking at my dead body laying in the casket. I'm not sure if I want my ashes to be scattered or to be kept in a box. Something to think about later.

aha, when I was a teenager, I always said I wanted to be pickled in a large Budweiser bottle, naked, with my middle finger sticking up, lol
If you think that's bad, a friend of mine always said he wanted to be dried out and rolled up so all of his friends could smoke him!
Now that I'm older and wiser, I hope I am anyway, I'm leaning towards cremation, simply because I believe earth will be covered in water again several lifetimes down the road and I don't want to be floating around in a box with the sharks. Until then, I don't want some wack-o digging me up and playing musical notes with my bones. Plus the bible states, ashes to ashes, not get sealed in a box and shovel into the ground. My worst fear is maggots anyway, I see one, ewww, I have to shower.

Cremation and then scattered by the coast.
The idea of rotting away, with maggots and all (which I have an irrational fear of), just doesn't sit well with me. Plus, with cremation, I'm definitely dead and done for.
I want to be scattered as well. Sitting in a jar for all eternity? And wouldn't it be abit creepy to give my ashes to my descendents ... it would scare them!
