How is nature govern with laws what is a natural occurence and actions that are biologically natural to person. Honest answer for research.

The legal and political issues would be significant if therer were really 1 out of 500 persons born with both male and female genitalia, because that would represent a minority population in the millions, with political muscle.

But your figure cannot be supported by the medical evidence. At most, depending on the anomaly you are discussing, the figure is more like 7 out of a 1000.

For the unfortunate persons truly suffering from a gender confusion issue, I see this as a medical issue with psychological effects to be dealt with by families and doctors. But because there is so little much that science cannot yet explain, it is important for the law to protect these persons while they are children so that they are not permanently disfigured in a way that will conflict with their own gender identification or that will psychologically scar them for life.

The number is off, but legally most places say that if you have a penis you're a male (by law) whether you have a vagina or not. I assume that most established religions would have no major issue with it.

As we are a more sexually open society now, I assume some governments recognize mixed-gendered peoples. But in any case, its easier to throw them into one catagory or another for legal purposes....

In a number of countries doctors, in consultation with the parents, and after doing a chromosome test, will do gender realignment surgery to give the child a more "normal" genitalia.
