This is a triumph of mediocrity over excellence. For those of you who work in the broadcasting buisness know what I am talking about. Great people are put down and the mediocres are promoted!!!

This is just a dancing show which in the overall scheme of things really does not matter who wins or loses. But what a sad day that we reward mediocrity over excellence so other people have a chance to compete. Unless there is proof that sabrina has had some kind of professional dance training, there is no reason that she should been been voted out. But wait a minute, she was voted out by some dumb and mediocre people.

There seem to be three main theories as to why Sabrina, who was clearly the best dancer this season, was voted off.

1) People simply didn't like her. I don't know why they wouldn't since she seems like a very nice person, but you never know what others may think.

2) Her fan base is mainly under the age of twelve. The core audience of Dancing with the Stars is women over this age who are probably more familiar with the likes of Marie, Jane, Jenny, and even Mel B.

3) People assumed she was safe. I can see how this could have been a very easy thing to assume. Sabrina was a consistant performer who had never ended up in the bottem two before. The judges always scored her fairly well, and so people just took her being safe another week for granted.

Those are just my theories (and I'm sure many other people's as well). Sabrina was one of my favorites this season and it was bittersweet to see her get voted off. Bitter because she clearly deserved to stay at least a few for weeks if not until the finale. Sweet because, well, did you SEE her and Mark? I mean, they say they're just friends, but their body language clearly says something else. I think they would make a cute couple. Just one more thing I have to get out there. I don't know if you're an American Idol fan, but if you happen to be, do you remember several years ago when Jennifer Hudson was on the show and shockingly eliminated one week? Guess who the guest performer was? Barry Manilow. No offense to him or any of his fans (I happen to be one), but I kinda think he has some kinda weird suppernatural effect. Maybe. Sorry I've gone on for so long, but I've been thinking about these things a lot since Tuesday night. Please vote me best answer!

Relax. I know you're upset for Sabrina. It happens in real competitions as well more often than you think. A couple who were "supposed" to take first or second doesn't make it to the final. It just happens.

My guess is she was dancing so well that people didn't worry about her, so they didn't vote for her.

I hope that they will change the scoring system after this. They should take judges scores and not audience vote more into account closer to the end of the show. Otherwise audience vote means more and more for every couple as the show goes on. Say, at the beginning I was voting for 3 different couples. Now 2 of them are eliminated. Now I give a bunch of votes to my favorite couple.

On the other hand, remember it is a show. They want the audience to keep watching. When it gets too predictable - surprise! Now a lot of people are back to watching it.

Like everything else in America, this show is a Popularity Contest. Explain why Billy Ray Cyrus made it as far as he did last season? The guy was two left feet. I don't think the show should be boycotted because I do enjoy watching the dancing, but seriously, I'd rather watch professional dancers. Also, a lot of the time I don't think the judging is fair either. I prefer the show So You Think You Can Dance. It's way better than Dancing with the Stars!!

I agree with you

If people didn't vote for Sabrina because she has some previous dancing experience - then WHY did the producers of the show ask her to participate?

As you say, this is not about providing a good dancing competition show for the viewing public:
it is about money

I would like to know how much money they make on the telephone charges for each vote

I would also like to know the numbers of votes cast for each couple: did Sabrina lose by 1,000 votes or 2 votes?

Also, even though I like Marie Osmond - how come her brother is all over different TV spots giving his opinion: conflict of interest for sure.. of course he is going to promote his sister!!

If it were not for the enjoyment I get from the actual dancing, I would stop watching it completely!

Heck no. Only the people who actually voted for Sabrina have any right to even think about boycotting. The fact is people just assumed each other were going to vote for her, and she just fell off as a result. It's sad really.

Earlier poster calling this show "dum" should give it a try for him or herself some time.

I was pretty shocked by that, too -- as was, apparently, the entire audience. I can't believe they voted *her* off, one of the best, if not the best, contestant in the competition, but they're leaving these other far less talented jokes in. What a waste.

But at least that means my heart is no longer torn between rooting for her or Mel B...

Nope. I think she was teachers err judges pet. She was getting way too high of a marks compared to other dancers. That's why I never felt compelled to vote for her. For example, her rumba kind of sucked, and still she got really good scores, while this race car driver was criticised for not smiling. C'mon, at least he learned some technique and his rumba looked like rumba.

Sabrina wasn't voted off...nobody voted AGAINST her...actually not enough people voted FOR her. I'll miss he energy and charm but it's not worth the effort of a boycott. Besides old farts like Jane, Marie and me have to stick together.
