Houdini started the whole craze.
Criss Angel as well as other magicians were inspired by him to perform magic tricks.
Therefore, my answer is Houdini.

you can't compare those two people! houdini was like the first of his kind, and he did mostly escape stunts. criss angel does a completely different kind of magic. and, obviously, the world of magic has progressed since then.

there's really no comparison to make, they're both good in their own way.

i dont think you can compare houdini to...criss angel! criss angel is so cheesy, his style, the way he talks, everything. and his magic isnt anything extra spectacular or innovative either. houdini is a legend in the magic world. even david blaine is a millionnnnn times better than criss angel.

good question, I would have to say Criss Angel. He is rather spectacular. Houdini wasnt no punk either though.
